Apple TV (take 2).

We got some good time with Apple take 2 (v2.0) software update at Macworld this year, but now that it is up to us to put the spurs to it. We will be more to the update as we go, but for now, here's what you need to know:

* The update is itself 200 MB and took us less than five minutes to download, but more than ten minutes to install. Our first attempt failed. Also, you used to see the screen that bar loading, it cycles about five times for us.
* Yeah, it is a slick new video it opens.
* Did someone say output 1080p? Oh yes, it is finally activated!
* Yeah, it's officially software version 2.0.
* Although the manual input of your Apple ID with the remote is a pain, movie rentals is quite a wink.
* HD Our film is ready for reading in less than a minute after the start of the download. Very nice.
* The image quality is very good. Not surprising, but good.
* Flickr integration works well (unlike Macworld onstage), but there's no way to aggregate the contact lists of your photos on your ATV. It is based on one single contact, which means that you can only look at your own or any other user photos at once. Kind of bummer in this regard.
* Many more details to be found here and there, as well as a chart instructive of how downloaded.
